A Little Bit of Malice

Malal or Malice is the Chaos God Of  Anarchy. I have here his servant, Amaros.  The model is from Archvillain Games.  It is one of the coolest models I have ever seen,  NOTE:  If you purchase one, be extra careful with it.  There are lots of little parts that can easily be broken off.

Amaros was given a coat of back acrylic paint.  Next, I did a dry brush of white paint over the entire model.  The flames on the sword were painted to look like real ones.  I gave everything a clear coat.

Assembly was a bit tricky.  When all was said and done, I ended up with one awesome figure.  I have several Chaos Knights I have modified over the past few years; they will become the servants of Malice. The Shadow Lord, Shadow Knights, and The Unforgiven (* See previous posts for pics) are a good start for an army of the "Doomed Ones".

Gotta go.  So much to do.  So many figures to paint.

Strange Magic

I finally finished this Vulduk Chaos Lord of magic and mystery from Archvillain Games.  Vulduk serves the Chaos God Tzeentch.

The base was easy - rocks and candles - no brainer on the paint scheme.  The body of the creature was easy too.  The wings...a whole different story. What colors to use, what wash, what highlight color???  It's done now and I think it looks great.  I didn't deviate too far from the general look in WH40K.

Thanks for checking in.  I'm always humbled and thankful that you do.  I feel lucky here on St. Patrick's Day to be able to share the things I enjoy with all of you out there in the big old world.  Have a good one!

Bad to the Bone

My latest edition to the collection is a Kharn Brute.  I got this figure at the Dollar Tree.  It is from their Final Faction Line.  According to the fluff, the Kharn are an alien race determined to plunder the Earth of its resources.  I have modified several Kharn figures already and couldn't resist adding this one to the fold.

I made a multitude of modifications to the figure as well as giving it a repaint.  I first took the figure apart so I could remove the arms.  I then reassembled it and glued the head and legs into place.  Crayola Model Magic was added to where the arms were attached so that I could change the angle of the arms from the torso.  Once the arms were glued into their new positions, I was ready to add weapons.

The bone club on the right was made from a pack of 36 bones from the Dollar Tree's Halloween accessories. The bones are made from foam so I coated it with multiple layers of PVA glue and Modge Podge to harden it before a painted it.  I then sealed it.

The sword is a modified Chaos Sword from Warhammer.  I replaced the grip of the sword and the pummel (now a skull).  I had a bunch of spare parts left over from the set of Vargheists I've been working on. I added bone-pierced flesh to the upper arms of the beast, a set of tusks to the mouth, and 4 boney spikes along the spine on the back.  The top spike has an impaled upper human torso on it.

The entire creature was painted coal black.  I went back and highlighted the raised areas with a metallic purple.  When everything was dry, I clear-coated the entire figure.

The pic is not the best (sorry).  I like the way the figure turned out.  It looks like it is pissed and on a rampage.  Because of this, I have renamed the creature a Kharn Rampager.

I Got A Crush On You

Just finished my Outworld Crusher by Archvillain Games,  I got it on Etsy from Palisade Miniature Company.  This is a super cool looking model.  It's a great sculpt and a good print. I'm going to use it as a Chaos Khorne Demon Lord.

It's Not Easy Being Green

I purchased this Gul'Vaal, Eater Of Hope, figure on Etsy last summer from BartlelsMarvels and am finally getting around to painting it. He is a Chaos Nurgle Demon Lord. This sucker is big (3.5 inches wide by 4 inches tall).

I had a great time painting it. I tried to make it as vile, ugly, and disgusting as possible. (Hey, I wanted to do the guy proud). I modified the contents spilling out of the sack. (There was this gooney looking head poking out.) I replaced it with some tentacles I removed from an old Horrorclix figure. I added a rusty chain and put a skull on the back of the base.

I'm still working on a Nurgle Cavalry unit to complete my Chaos Army I started last summer.  Soon, I hope to have some minions to help the Big Guy spread pestilence, famine, and decay.

This proliferator of the plague turned out pretty damn cool in my humble opinion.  Check it out and see what you think.

Now You See Me...

...And now you don't.  Check out my new Chaos Malice Shadow Lord.  The body is a Reaper Bones Hell Knight.  (I have no idea why I had two of them, but since I did, I decided to modify this one. The other one is in a picture in an earlier post.)

I removed the head, right hand, and shield and replaced them with some bits left over from my Warhammer Chaos Warriors.  The black and white color scheme is based on the Sons of Malice chapter of Chaos Space Marines in WH40K.  I added a few skulls to the base for mood.

I'm going to use this bad boy as the leader of my Warhammer Chaos Army when it is finished.  I'm super happy with the way this guy turned out.  I put a couple of pics below.  As always thank you for checking out my blog.  I greatly appreciate it.  Stay safe out there.

Winged Victory

I started painting these two miniatures back in May and then got a little sidetracked.  I finished them yesterday and am happy with how they turned out.  The miniatures are from the D&D Nolzurs line.  On the left is a Harpy and the one on the right is an Arakocra.  I used this picture of a Harpy I found online for the color scheme I used on the figure.

Still working on my Warhammer Chaos army. I'm getting there.  I've decided to add a Chaos Lord to the mix which has set me back a few days.

Nothing But Chaos

I have decided for my summer project to build a Warhammer Chaos Army.  It will be made up of four units; each unit committed to one of the four Chaos Gods.  For Nurgle, a unit of Hexwraith Cavalry.  A unit of  Blood Warriors and Reavers for Khorne.  I'm splitting a box of Chaos Warriors between Slaanesh and Tzeentch.  Each unit will have 8 figures that comprise it.  Totaling 32 figures in all, this will be a bit of a challenge.

As usual, pictures will follow when completed.  Wish me luck.

Full of Grim

I just finished the latest lost son of the emperor.  This is one of my most favorite builds to date.  The model is from Andrea Miniatures.  It is called Beelphegor from their Warlord Saga line.  It is impressive as far as pose and detail.  The model scale is 54mm which makes it fairly big in comparison to most of the Kabuki, Scibor, and HiTech figures that I used in the past.  However it is comparable to the Kabuki First Knight and Scarab Knight models which are larger.

I did a bit of modifying by adding the wing to the left shoulder.  I used a pink, purple, and gold paint scheme to reflect the colors of our favorite Phoenician. I placed the figure on a Chaos base from Scibor miniatures.  Take a look and see what you think.
