All-in-all, not a bad find. I made 2 quick and easy meals without breaking the bank. My tank is full and I'm happy!

Messages of Madness???
I
have continued my exploration of Marvel’s multiverse movies this week. I
watched Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. I think all I still need to see is Spider-Man: No Way
Home. I was never a fan of Shang Chi so I'm going to skip that one.
Both films I recently watched were far better than Thor: Love and Thunder. The tragic storyline of Wanda was sad but was largely true to the comic books and done well. Seeing Wong come into his own was great too.
I also really enjoyed the introduction of Kang into the Marvel Movies. He’s such a great character in all his forms. I’m expecting big things from him/them in the near future.
I
did think both films got a little busy.
It was like they were trying to pack too much action into them. Regardless, I did enjoy watching them.
One more to go. I gotta check out our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler next. Excelsior!!!

Double Feature
Does anyone still remember going to the movies or drive-in and seeing a double feature? You got to see two movies for the price of one. I loved going to these when I was a kid. (I'm not going to lie; I usually fell asleep during the second movie.)
I watched a couple more of the MCU film series over the past few days. Not quite a double feature but I still watched two films.
Marvel's Eternals was above average. For the most part, I thought the story was good and the acting decent. I liked the fact that they introduced the Black Knight into the universe. The Sersi/Dane Whitman dynamic in the comic books was fantastic (I loved the team from that era). I hope to see it carry over in the film(s).
I also saw The Black Widow which was fabulous. In my opinion, it was the best Marvel film since End Game. Loved the story, great characters/acting, and a nice tie-up at the end. Well done, I say!
Several more movies to go to get caught up. I am hopeful once again that they will be of quality. Pass the popcorn.

I Pity the Fool
...who tries to mess with the bad MoFo. He looks like a "Shoot first. Ask questions later, kinda guy." I just finished this Reaper Bones Rach Soldier or Malvernis Soldier (It is listed both ways on their website). I used a color combination that I've been wanting to use for a while but never got around to. I like the overall look. I'll probably use him with my ever growing band of space aliens (maybe as a raider, mercenary, rebel, etc.).
Up next...Female Vampire Pirates! Whaaaat????

Cold Front
If you have been following my blog for any amount of time you know I enjoy a good adult beverage on occasion. Recently I was introduced to Mike's Hard Freeze. They're like a slushy from back-in-the-day but better. They taste great and come in a variety of flavors. I gotta tell ya that this summer, I'm going to enjoy a Hard Freeze (or two!) Why not pop open a can and join me?!
Just a reminder, when indulging, keep it cool. Have a good time, but remember to be responsible.

Marvel-Less???
This past week I was able to catch a couple of Marvel films on Netflix that I have been wanting to watch for some time.
Thor: Love and Thunder is one of the worst Marvel films in recent memory. Outside of Christian Bale's performance, nothing about this film was that good. Poor acting, poor attempts at humor, poor script, poor just about everything. The problem is, I can't unsee it now.
Not much better was Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Atlanteans were cool. The back story of Namor was an interesting reinterpretation of his conception. The rest of the story was mediocre at best. I actually fell asleep at one point. Yawn!
I think I got spoiled by the fabulous films that made up the first round of Marvel/Avenger movies. The newer films have a lot to live up to. I'm hoping the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie will uplift my spirits and reconnect me to the franchise. Marvel is 0 for 2 with me right now in round two. I hope they don't strike out with this newest release.

There are Klingons Circling Uranus
"Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam!" To these ten Klingon Warriors, those words would be gospel. The figures are from Modiphius Entertainment. I tried to paint them similar to the Klingons from the Star Trek: The Next Generation Era. I really like these models. They are nicely detailed and have a variety of Klingon weapons (Disrupters, Bat'leths, D'k tagh Knives, and a Mek'leth. Check out the pic of the galaxy's bad boys (and girls).

Put A Fork In 'Em
Tonight is the last game of the season for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The playoff streak (16 years) is over. No post-season hockey for the boys in the Black and Gold. Put a fork in 'em, they're done.
I'll be watching the game this evening as I always do. I'll be cheering on my beloved Pens against the Columbus Blue Jackets. I'm no fair-weather fan, win or lose, they're my team.
It was a frustrating season for Penguin fans to say the least. I'm sure it was for the players and Coach Sullivan as well. It is the end of an era to be sure. I'm sure the Holy Trinity will be back next year (Malkin, Crosby, and LeTang), but I expect to see a lot of new faces.
The goalie situation needs to be resolved. Outside of Guentzel, Rakell, Zucker, and Archibald, not much from the rest of the offensive squad (even Rust struggled). P.O Joseph and Dumoulin were decent for the most part. The rest of the defense was just okay. Needless to say, injuries haunted the club all season and the trades weren't great. Rumors already are circulating about what heads will roll and who will stay and who will go.
But for this Penguin fan, I'm going to sit back and enjoy the game tonight. It will be the last one until next Fall. I got spoiled over the years watching Penguin post-season hockey. Like many hockey fans I'll just have to pick a different team and root for them in the playoffs. Decisions, decisions,...

I Wanna Be a Cowboy....
....and you can be my Cowgirl. Great song by Boys Don't Cry back in the day. My lasted batch of miniatures are all from Reaper Bones. Among the bunch are (left to right) a zombie, a few Texas Rangers, and a skeleton. With all the lead that's flyin', you better duck for cover, pardner. Picture below. Take a gander. Happy Trails....
