Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do?

Here are a couple of "Baddies" I recently finished.  One is a Cyber Troll from Reaper Bones Miniatures and the other is a repaint and modification of a HeroClix Samuroid.  

The Troll was painted pewter with gray horns and reddish hair.  He was given a blue vest, charcoal pants, and black overalls.  The minigun was painted silver.  Everything was given a black wash.  When it dried, I went in and gave our new bad boy some highlights.

I named the refurbished Samuroid, Cyber Dragon.  I used a metallic green and flat black color combination for his uniform.  I added silver accents to the chestplate and helmet.  I replaced the samurai sword with a cyber blade.  I think he looks pretty bada$$.  

The Troll is a part of a intergalactic band of marauders plundering planets for whatever they can take and generally causing havoc.  The Dragon is a robot designed to steal corporate secrets, engage in corporate espionage, and act as an assassin to take out corporate rivals when necessary.

I Pity the Fool

 ...who tries to mess with the bad MoFo.  He looks like a "Shoot first. Ask questions later, kinda guy." I just finished this Reaper Bones Rach Soldier or Malvernis Soldier (It is listed both ways on their website).  I used a color combination that I've been wanting to use for a while but never got around to. I like the overall look.  I'll probably use him with my ever growing band of space aliens (maybe as a raider, mercenary, rebel, etc.).

George the Animal Coal????

If you were a kid growing up in the 1970s or 80s there is a good chance you watched studio wrestling and probably saw George the Animal Steele going through his usual antics in the ring.  As I was painting this D&D Nolzur's Deep Cut Cave Troll there was something about his face that seemed familiar.  I woke this morning muttering, "George Steele".

I bought the figure a few weeks ago and after all the tanks and drones felt I needed a fantasy creature to paint.  I primered the model with black paint.  I then painted it with a coal colored paint.  Next, I gave the entire figure a navy blue wash.  The pointed areas and eyes were painted metallic blue. Then, I gave them multiple very thin coats of metallic white.  After everything dried, I dry brushed the raised areas with a silver gray. The straight edges of the pointed features were highlighted with platinum.  Once all that dried, the entire figure was given multiple coats of glitter and metallic flake paints.  The mouth was painted a gray-blue and the base was given a dark brown wash.  Lastly, the model was coated in a high gloss finish.
