Veni, Vidi, Vici
Finis. This is my version of the emperor. The model is the Cezar of Rome figure from Scibor Miniatures. Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite figures that I have worked on to date. It is a great little detailed sculpt. I love the fact that it is uniform in size with the other Scibor figures that I used in the project.
I wanted the figure to show both benevolence and might. I think that it comes across that way. I ditched the base that came with it and used one from another model instead. I feel that it gives the illusion that he is on the bridge of a ship (perhaps before his demise??) Gotta say that I'm pleased with the overall outcome of this one.
Next time: Hail, hail, the gang's all here! (The reunification of the emperor and his sons.)

The Writers Three
In an older post, I wrote about a book called Tomb of Terror. After I read it (lots of great short horror stories), I wanted more. In the book are links to the authors' websites. I went on a few of them and since have downloaded or bought several more books from them. I really like the stuff from the guys who call themselves the Writers 3. I've included a link to their website: jflushing.wixsite.com/writers3 Check them out and see for yourself.

No Horusing Around
The last of the brothers has been found and he's ready to get on with his father's work. I am thrilled with the end result of this Master of War. I did a darker more chaotic take on the character. (I know, it sounds like heresy, right?) I swapped out the head. I felt this one reflected the character more closely. The feeble looking sword that was included was replaced with a custom power maul that I think turned out to be pretty savage.
I replaced the base that came with it with one from Scibor Miniatures that I thought I could use to tie in Egyptian Mythology to the character.
Take a look...as always, I appreciate that you do!

My Favorite Martin
I just finished reading High Stakes. The book is one of the many Wild Card books edited by George R.R. Martin and written by a plethora of writers over the years (series started in 1987). Of the many books that I have read, High Stakes is one of the best.
Reading the book is like being on one heck of a roller coaster ride. The book grabs you right from the start and doesn't let go of you until the very end. The many ups and downs, twists and turns, and major tossing about that the characters go through is incredible. When you finally read the last page, you are exhausted. Great great job by all of the writers!!!! Loved the book!!!!
In fact I loved it so much that I went straight out and bought the next book, Mississippi Roll. After meeting Wilbur in the first few pages, I was hooked. I'm a fan of Cherie Priest's work and was pleasantly pleased to see that she is a writer on Mississippi Roll.
Thanks George! Thanks writers! Keep 'em coming! I'll keep reading them!
