I just finished reading
High Stakes. The book is one of the many Wild Card books edited by George R.R. Martin and written by a plethora of writers over the years (series started in 1987). Of the many books that I have read,
High Stakes is one of the best.
Reading the book is like being on one heck of a roller coaster ride. The book grabs you right from the start and doesn't let go of you until the very end. The many ups and downs, twists and turns, and major tossing about that the characters go through is incredible. When you finally read the last page, you are exhausted. Great great job by all of the writers!!!! Loved the book!!!!
In fact I loved it so much that I went straight out and bought the next book,
Mississippi Roll. After meeting Wilbur in the first few pages, I was hooked. I'm a fan of Cherie Priest's work and was pleasantly pleased to see that she is a writer on
Mississippi Roll.
