Make No Bones About It

Here are 3 Skeletal Warriors who refuse to give up the fight.  The centaur is from Rackham Confrontation.  I will add the odd horse/man to my Living Dead of Acheron faction.   I painted him to fit in with the figures I have for that clan.

The other two figures are leftover from my Banner Saga purchase.  I removed the heads and weapons from the figures.  I added some weapons I had from Warhammer and HeroClix.  The skulls were from a bag of them that I purchased some time ago.  I envisioned them to be coated in blood from head to toe.  I have named them "The Unforgiven".  Not even Hell wants them because of their endless lust for killing and carnage.

Return of Heroscape (Again????)

Heroscapers.com has been down for some time.  I have been checking daily to see when it would come back online.  Today I saw that it was indeed available and the first thing I saw was an announcement about the potential return of my (and many others) beloved Heroscape.  Renegade Game Studios has partnered with Hasbro to produce the game once again. Check out the article with the link below.

Return of Heroscape

I'm not getting my hopes too high.  Seeing will be believing.  Until I have some new figures, terrain, etc. in my grubby little mitts, I won't be happy.  Keep those fingers crossed boys and girls.

Jubal Early

In an earlier post, I discussed my fondness for the short-lived but excellent series Firefly.  One of the antagonists that appeared on the show is Jubal Early played by actor, Richard Brooks.  Early is a crazed sadistic bounty hunter that boards Serenity to capture River Tam.  He is definitely one of the creepiest villains in a Sci-Fi TV show.  Early is in two episodes of Firefly:  Objects in Space and Leaves on the Wind. He is famous for saying: "Does that seem right to you?"

I created my own version of Jubal Early at Hero Forge Custom Minis and had them 3D print it.  It turned out great.  I tried to mimic the color scheme for the figure from pictures of the character online.  I think I did okay.  Check out our spaced out spaceman.

Giant Mechanical Samurai

I'm a fan of the movie, Sucker Punch.  It's not the greatest movie ever made, but it's entertaining none-the- less. The fight scene between Baby Doll and the Samurai Robots is my favorite part of the film.  I had these three figures 3D printed by Hero Forge Custom Miniatures.  While not 100% copies of the one's from the film, I did my best to recreate them as close to the originals as possible.  They turned out extremely well and I'm quite happy.  Now to get the girls done.  I purchased the lot of them (5) from Reaper Miniatures some time ago.

14 for 14

I got a great deal recently on these Mage Knight figures over at Noble Knight Games.  I'm not a huge fan of Mage Knight but some of these guys looked too cool to pass up.  There is quite an ensemble:  elves, a vampire, a golem, a fairy, gargoyles, Amazons, a worm, an assassin, and a a gorilla.  I did a few touch ups, some dry brushing, and a couple of color changes.  Here they are.  Take a look at the new crew.

Congratulations to the Vegas Golden Knights.  They had an impressive win in Game 5 yesterday to defeat a really good Florida Panthers team.  It was a great Stanley Cup series.  Both teams fought hard to try to win it.  Very enjoyable to watch!

Duck and Cover

I've had these sandbags and barricades for a long time.  I thought it was time to dig them out and get them painted up and ready for game play.  They turned out fairly decently. Hunker down and get behind 'em before someone takes you out!

Moonscape

I've been on a roll for sometime now painting figures.  I needed a break.  I purchased these craters from EnderToys.  They are 3D printed and are pretty decent for the money.  You get 11 of them; 2 of which are multiple crater sets.  I painted one set with an urban color scheme (black, gray, white) and the other with a rural one (greens, browns, tan).  Check 'em out.

Dinner and a Movie

Last night was date night.  Typical...dinner and a movie...nothing fancy.

Dinner was at Caliente Pizza & Draft House in Aspinwall, PA.  There are several of these places around the Pittsburgh area and they have a great reputation for their pizza. While the restaurant was just okay and the service left something to be desired, the pizza was AMAZING!!!!  I highly recommend it!  The menu had tons of options for food and drinks. I would go to one of their other locations and happily explore more of what they offer.

The movie we saw was About My Father.  Very entertaining movie. If you've ever seen the comedy of Sebastian Maniscalco, you'll get the gist of the film.  Robert De Niro is great in it.  The rest of the cast does a fabulous job of playing over the top characters in this funny romp about the complexities of families.

All together a very enjoyable evening.  It's nice to get out and about every once in a while.
