It's Cool in the Carolinas

Temps have been in the 90s all week but everything is cool in the Carolinas.  We've been in the Charlotte/Rock Hill area for the past few days and can't believe how kind, friendly, helpful, and decent the folks are around here.  It has been a true pleasure.  Literally everyone we have met has made us feel welcome.  Thank you.  We greatly appreciate your Southern hospitality.

Dodged One

Headed on vacation to Florida.  Doing 70 mph on I-77 South when suddenly my Dodge Journey starts to come to screeching halt in the middle of the highway and I'm not touching the brakes.  I quickly managed to get over to the berm without getting hit by any other car or truck.  Someone was watching over us...we could have been killed.

I bought the car new in 2016.  Since the time I purchased it, this is the second brake lock up and I had to steer into a embankment once when the brakes failed going down a hill.  I literally have had the braking system redone several times.  No one at Dodge can ever seem to get it fixed right and/or there is an inherent flaw with their brake system (I've had it to 3 different dealerships).

I've been reading online about other Dodge Journey owners having similar experiences going back to 2009 with the brakes.  My advice, steer clear.  If you don't it could prove costly (or worse).

That's a Bargain

I was at my local Dollar Tree checking out the toy section for anything I might be able to use/modify for my miniature wargaming hobby (sickness) and struck gold.  The new wave of Final Faction figures, vehicles, and accessories is out and they had a huge assortment of it.  I grabbed 4 of the Arrow ATV with 2 armor and weapons packs  (to be converted into Ork Waaaagh Trukks and Imperial Desert Vehicles), a pack of the Kharn Crawlers (2 in a pack). and the P-131 Mech with accessory pack.  Each items was $1.25.  For around 9 bucks that's a lot of stuff.  I'm looking forward to digging into these items and seeing what I can come up with.  Pics to follow at some point down the road.

Just Jaggin' Around

I just scored these super cool Jagun Fighters on eBay for a great price.  I'm stoked.  These figures were produced by Bandai back in 2003.  I missed picking them up at the time but am happy to finally get them.  I think I'll use them as some type of mystical guardians with some of my Samurai armies.  Check 'em out.

A little tip of the hat to one of my favorite all time singers, David Bowie.  I bought this Wizkids D&D Nolzur's Djinni a few months ago.  I thought it looked super cool.  All painted up, I was not disappointed.  Have a gander.  Sorry, no wishes granted.  I'm keeping them all for myself.

Chaos All Around

Chaos Undivided

Nearly a year ago I started out to build a Warhammer Chaos Army.  I've gathered a variety of Chaos figures over the years but felt I needed a full fledged force.  I purchased several boxes of Chaos figures and set off to work.  

I divided the Chaos Warriors into two sets of Knights.  One set serves Tzeentch and the other Slaanesh.  The set of Blood Reavers and Blood Warriors are dedicated to Khorne. Lastly a unit of Black Knights for Nurgle.  I added a set of Undead Cavalry from Fireforge Games to even out all the units into groups of eight.  Thirty two minions for the Lords of Chaos to order into battle.
