Too Much Fun!

I had a great time yesterday.  I had some friends over to watch the Pitt-Penn State Game.  I was at the last game 16 years ago with my son .  He was over to watch the game yesterday.  Like my wife and I, he is also a Pitt alum.  So with a houseful of crazy Pitt fans, let the game begin.

It was a great game with a ton of momentum changes.  It kept you riveted the entire time.  With loads of food and libations, we had a blast!  We sent texts to Penn Staters that we know (and love??!) to harass them an got plenty of texts back in return.  Great fun all the way around!!!  To add the icing to the cake, the game turned out the right way with the Panthers on top.

Congrats to all the players and coaches from both schools.  Everyone did an outstanding job yesterday.  I'm sure that I can speak for long time fans of both programs in saying that we loved the game and the opportunity to see life breathed back into the old rivalry. LOVED IT!

Backyard Brawl

Pitt played one heck of a half of football last night.  Unfortunately, WVU played a better half of football.  No blame game here.  You win as a team and loose as a team.  As a long time Pitt fan, it was just a hard pill to swallow. What bothers me even more about the whole thing is that this may be the last Backyard Brawl.  With no more Penn State rivalry anymore, this was the one game to get your blood pumping if you are a Pitt fan.  Something is being lost here.  With the demise of the Big East and both schools headed to different conferences, what will we look forward to now.  I hated when BC, Miami, and Virginia Tech jumped ship a few years back.  Pitt and WVUs moves don't sit well with me either.  I suppose it is a sign of the times.  Big East football and basketball held a warm spot in the hearts of many fans.   I hope for the best for both schools and their programs.  Perhaps in the future we will meet again.  Hopefully Pitt will win next time!

Penn State

Kudos to the Penn State Football program (players and coaches) and fans as-well-as all the Nebraska players and fans for being the class act they were before, during, and after last weeks game when all eyes were upon them.  Many negative things that could have caused further trauma to an already horrific situation did not occur.  As events move forward I hope the focus will be on finally doing right by the victims and prosecuting those who did wrong by those children.  My heart and prayers go out to those children and their families as-well-as all of the other victims of this great tragedy.
