Kabuki Unmasked

If you have followed my blog over the past couple of years, then you know that I have collected many models from Kabuki Studios.  Most of the models have come from their Knights of Legend line.  I have featured photographs of the finished figures in many of my entries along with comments about them.  I have enjoyed collecting, building, painting, and in some cases modifying their models.

Several of the models that I purchased were missing parts: a finger on one figure, an arm from another, a cingulum from a third.  With bits that I had from other models, I was able to fabricate the missing pieces with little problem.  Recently I opened the package for the Monghol Knight Model which I bought a few months back and found that it was missing a shoulder guard.  Since the shoulder guard for the figure was very unique, I wrote to Kabuki's customer service department to see if I could get the part or a replacement.  Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the kind of response that I got from them.  Take a look at the email correspondence below.

I have purchased more than a dozen of Kabuki's figures from companies like Cool Mini or Not, Noble Knight Games, and Hangar 18 Miniatures.  These figures aren't cheap and I have spent a good deal of money on them.  I have also bought figures from other companies with little to no issues.  When there have been, these companies have been more than gracious in helping to correct the situation and show their appreciation for the business.  I guess that it is that type of customer service that I am used to.  Perhaps the folks at Kabuki Studios could take a lesson from some of their distinguished competition in this area.

What's sad is that I genuinely like their figures. However, from now on, I'll buy from companies that appreciate my business and my customer loyalty.  Live and learn!
